Under the right conditions, wet structures and contents can be a perfect breeding ground for mold spores. When mold is present, MicroTech Water Damage Control, Inc. has a multitude of tools in its arsenal for safely and effectively removing mold growth.
Here are some examples of Ways MicroTech Removes Mold:
- HEPA vacuums
- Air Scrubbers
- Certified Technicians
- Mold Detection Equipment
the HEPA Vacuum – Professional Removal Of Mold Spores
For many hard surfaces, including everything from framing and drywall to furniture, the HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) vacuum can be used to remove mold spores. Spores are measured in microns – one micron is approximately 1/25,000 of an inch – and HEPA equipment is, by definition, capable of filtering out 99.97 percent of all particle matter and mist larger than 0.3 microns. Since the mold spores in a water damage situation typically range in the 2 to 20 micron range, HEPA equipment is very effective in their removal.
The Air Scrubber – An Air Filter
Another tool is the air scrubber, which is essentially a portable, high-speed recirculating fan equipped with a series of filters, including a HEPA filter. Contaminated air passes through the scrubber, mold spore and dust is removed by the filters, and depending on the situation, the clean air can be exhausted to the outside or reintroduced into the building. This piece of equipment is also used to establish negative air pressure to prevent mold spores from moving into an unaffected area of the structure.
Thorough Efforts Taken to void Cross Contamination
So, to help avoid the possibilities of cross contamination and higher costs of remediation in a building that has mold, it’s best to leave the remediation process to the properly insured pros at Team MicroTech who are IICRC Certified with Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) certifications.
